Growing Stronger—Included And Secure (Part 2), Ephesians 1:13-14
The 7 Blessings Listed In Ephesians 1:3-14
- He chose us in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.
- He adopted us as children through His son Jesus Christ.
- We have redemption and forgiveness through the blood of Christ.
- He made known to us the mystery of His wisdom and understanding.
- We were chosen to be living examples that would bring praise and glory to Him.
- We were included in Christ when we heard the word of truth, the gospel of salvation.
- We were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Jesus comes into our lives!
We Have Security And Victory In The Presence Of The Holy Spirit—God Indwelling Us!
Ephesians 1:11-14, “Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan. 12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.”
Blessing #6- In Christ—I have the Inheritance of eternal life!
Notice the change in pronouns in verse 11: From “us” and “we” to “you” and “I”. From the overall to personal.
Romans 10:9, “…if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”
WRITE: Salvation (Being In God’s Family) Is Not DO—It’s: _______________!
Chosen Can Have 2 Meanings:
Chosen __________ an inheritance.
Chosen __________ an inheritance.
Matthew 6:19-21, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
- I’m Loved And Valued By God!
Predestined And Human Choice:
Romans 8:29, “For God knew in advance who would choose His Son, and He chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”
“Included IN Christ” Means: I’m Part Of The IN-Crowd!
- Have You Chosen To Become A Part Of God’s Family By Following Jesus?
- What’s Really Important Is Not ‘Who’s Who’—But ‘HIS Who’!—God’s Who!
Blessing #7- I HAVE THE GUARANTEE OF THE Holy Spirit—GOD INdwelling ME!

QUESTION: ‘How Do I Know I Have God’s Seal, God In My Life?’
Ephesians 1:13b, “…when you believed you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit…”
- All you have to do to have the seal of God’s Holy Spirit is to believe in Jesus Christ.
Our Salvation, Heaven, All God’s Promises, And Our Inheritance Is Guaranteed—through the Holy Spirit!
