Growing Stronger—God’s Eye Chart, Participant Notes

The Focus Of Our Eyes Determines How Close And Affective Our Relationship With Jesus Will Be!

Ephesians 1:16b-20, “…I pray for you constantly. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms…”

This Portion Of Ephesians Is Like A spiritual eye chart.

  • Am I seeing things from my point of view?
  • Am I seeing things from the world’s point of view?

►Or am I seeing things from God’s point of view?

2 Kings 6:13-16

Heart

We Think Of Emotions.

In Biblical Days– They Focused On Your Thoughts, Decisions And Emotions—Your Will.

We’ve Got To See Past Our Point Of View, And The World’s Point Of View, To See God’s Point Of View!

  • We Need To Develop Our Spiritual Eyesight.

Matthew 13:13, “For they see, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.”

3 WAYS TO FOCUS YOUR PRAYERS ON A DEEPER and more victorious RELATIONSHIP WITH Jesus:

ONE- Pray That I Can See ________________ Of His Calling!

Romans 15:13, “May the Lord of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 5:3-4, “We also have joy with our troubles because we know that these troubles produce patience, and patience produces character and character produces hope.”

►As I Grow In Christ, My Focus Changes From Me Saying, ‘My Problems Are Destroying My Life’ — To ‘My Problems Are Developing My Life!’

Romans 8:28, “God takes all the things in our life, even the bad things and He works them for the good of those who love Him.” (CEV)

TWO- Pray That I Can See The _______________ Of God’s Inheritance!

Ephesians 1:18b, “…the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people…”

  • Yes, We Have An Inheritance In Heaven!
  • But As A Believer, I Am God’s Inheritance!
  • Personalize This: I’m Valuable To God And I’m Loved By God!

THREE- Pray That I Can See _________________ Available To Me As God’s Child.

Ephesians 1:19-20, “…and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

Paul strings together four Greek words that all mean power in some way or another:

  1. Dunamis– we get our word “dynamo” or “dynamite.” — It means power.

  1. Energia– we get our word “energy.”

  1. Kratos– We get our word “mighty” from that.

  1. Ischus– means “power”, “greatness”.

►The Greatest Power—The Power Of The Resurrected Jesus—Is IN You!

The Church Is The Place Of God’s Power!

Two Pictures Of The Church:

One- The church is the body of Christ. — Jesus is the head and we’re the body.

Two- The church is the fullness of Christ.  It’s the place where His full will and His full abilities are really shown out.

We Can Experience A Deeper And More Victorious Relationship With Jesus By Learning To See:

►By Seeing The HOPE Of God’s Calling!

►By Seeing That We’re God’s Inheritance, We’re Valuable To God!

►By Seeing The Power We Have—Because Jesus Lives Within Us!
